1 Item vetoes were overridden by the Assembly July 20, 1979. Item vetoes were overridden by the Senate July 19, 1979. The Senate overrode another line item veto on September 5, 1979, which the Assembly overrode on February 4, 1980 but a motion to reconsider was noticed. The motion lapsed on February 5, 1980 and the override took effect on this day.
2 Withdrawn from Governor July 3, 1991. Returned to enrollment and to Governor July 4, 1991.
3 AB 88 was a companion bill to AB 1781, and final measures included in budget deal passed September 19, 2008.
4 A companion bill, SB 2 (3rd Ex.), amended the budget bill for the Fiscal Year 2008-09. It was signed the same day as SB 1 (3rd Ex.).
5 AB 1 (4th Ex.) amended the 2009-10 budget enacted in February.
6 In February and March 2010, the Legislature (by majority vote) sent several 8th Extraordinary Session bills to the Governor to address $5 billion of solutions.
The Governor vetoed these bills.
7 This marked the first time in history that the Governor vetoed the Budget Bill. SB 69 was passed by both houses on March 17, 2011 and held in enrollment.
AB 98, a companion bill making adjustments to SB 69, was passed by both houses on June 15, 2011, at which time both bills were sent to the Governor
and vetoed.
